Biography:
Mr. Dineen has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1978. The principal areas of his practice have been Municipal Law and Transportation Law. He is President and sole shareholder of Dineen Law Offices, s. c. He has been associated with the firm as Of Counsel since 1993. He is the River Hills Village Attorney (since 1990, Assistant Village Attorney from 1978 -1990). He served the Village of Brown Deer as an Assistant Village Attorney from 1985 to 1997 and as Village Attorney from 1998 – 2006). In addition he has provided legal services for the Village of Shorewood as an Assistant Village Attorney since 1995 in his capacity as Of Counsel to the Firm. He also serves as the attorney for the North Shore Fire Department a sec.66.0301 jointly owned and operated fire and emergency services department for the seven North Shore communities.
William P. Dineen’s legal experience on behalf of municipal clients includes all of the usual matters that a Municipal Attorney becomes involved in, including matters such as local television station's public record request litigation, forming non-profit municipal civic organizations and filing of IRS Sec. 501(3)(c) applications, tax assessment litigation, working with local officials during investigation of the police department, special use and conditional use permit zoning applications and litigation, review and drafting of development agreements, drafting of cellular/wireless facilities contracts and negotiations, formation of Community Development Authority, Bond issues (not as Bond counsel), water utility easement litigation, PECFA appeals, real estate acquisitions and sales, appeals of police commission decisions and FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant land purchases related to flood damaged properties.
